translated from Spanish: CDMX and IMSS to regularize real estate and formal jobs

The Government of Mexico City and the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) on Saturday signed a Framework Coordination Convention to work on the regularization of heritage properties of the Institute, and in the affiliation of workers.
The head of government Claudia Sheinbaum said that the agreement consists of four specific points: Support the Social Security nursery in the Buenos Aires colony with a space to use it as a winery, as well as safe trails around the hospitals La Raza and Siglo 21.
Zoé Robledo Aburto, MANAGING Director of IMSS, reported that only Mexico City requires 25 percent of the Institute’s capacity for third-tier care, and although a first agreement with the capital was signed in 2012, it was necessary to update it and be more ambitious in its scope.
The emphasis, he argued, will be on the formalization of employment in Mexico City, so conditions and strategies will be generated to better monitor employers and avoid under-registration, which ultimately affects the worker.
Another element of the agreement has to do with the regularization of real estate assets, since there is a disorderly and depressed record of the property tax, in addition it is necessary to regulate the use of land in some buildings.
In this regard, Sheinbaum Pardo said that an assessment is currently being conducted to find out how much of the property tax debit amount is; however, he said there may be condons.
The third point is that related to the infrastructure and the surrounding urban environment to improve security. “We believe that these orderly environments change the experience of someone who has to use third-level medical services in general,” he said.
The ambulator will also be reordered, which keeps IMSS hospitals surrounded in the city.
Fourthly, he mentioned the issue of civil protection security, with which they will seek certification of safe building, as there are currently red spots in La Raza and in the Hospital Siglo 21.
