While he has experience as technical director of Bayern Munich’s under-19s, where he played for six years, Martin Demichelis spoke of his desire to lead the team of which he is a fan: River. While comfortable with his family in Munich and is recognized at germany’s largest club, he confessed that he would return to Argentina if an interesting offer is presented. In dialogue with Radio La Red, the athlete who emerged at River stated: “I dream of being River’s coach. It’s anyone’s dream in this profession, and if you don’t dream about it, you have to do something else.” However, he remarked on the presence of the current DT: “I am a fan of River and Gallardo, and I want Marcellus to stay 20 more years, for all that he generated not only on the field of play, but at the institution level”.
The DT admitted that he is willing to move to Argentina with his entire family (his wife Evangelina Anderson and his three children Bastian, Lola and Emma) for an “interesting” offer even if it’s not River: “I wouldn’t go for anything, because I’m at Bayern and I’m happy , but I am open to directing in Argentina as long as it is something with an interesting structure.” There are things we would move with the family to Argentina, because today I feel much safer with the concepts.
