At least seven people were killed and two more injured following an armed attack in a party room in Tierra Blanca, Veracruz.
Several reports indicate that among the victims would be Francisco Navarrete Serna, director of the newspaper El Sol de Tierra Blanca and marked as supposed operator of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel.
The event occurred when an armed group broke into the party room during an event organized by the newspaper.

The party was broadcast live on Facebook, while Navarrete Serna was on stage with the musical ensemble ‘La Calle’, when the indiscriminate gunshots against the attendees were heard.
Even during the video one is seen as one of the members of the musical group pulls out a gun to try to repel aggression and runs where the detonations are heard; is at that moment when the party’s broadcast is cut off.

In 2016 Francisco Navarrete Serna was arrested along with his son Francisco Navarrete Abraham and Junior Alarcón, accused of organized crime and in connection with the disappearance and murder of five young people from the municipality of Acayucan, which occurred on January 11 of that year.
It was in 2019 that Navarrete was released from prison and at the end of that year he founded the newspaper El Sol de Tierra Blanca.
