Mexico.- Xavier López, better known as “Chabelo” has become a trend on the social network Twitter, and that is that every Sunday Mexicans remember with nostalgia the program “En Familia con Chabelo”, which accompanied Mexican families every Sunday breakfast. Chabelo became a trend on Twitter because hundreds of users started posting “by this time I’d be watching Chabelo…” followed by some memories of the program, such as his songs or some of the dynamics he presented in each broadcast.

As they became a trend (recurring topic on Sundays), some users believed that it was because of the death of Xavier López, since it is worth noting the years of experience that Chabelo’s character has had in the artistic environment.
In Family with Chabelo
Xavier Lopez introduced his character Chabelo pro first in the musical carousel, against a joke of a boy who wore the same nomnre. The character was very popular with the audience that years later earned him his own show. En familia con Chabelo was a variety, competition and participation program dedicated to the family, broadcast by Televisa and hosted by Xavier López on Sundays. It was first broadcast on November 26, 1967.

It was characterized by artists and musical groups that have been presented since its inception. At the beginning and end of the program Chabelo sang a song from his repertoire. On November 27, 2015, Xavier López announced the end of the program after 48 years on air, the last broadcast of which was on Sunday, December 20. In a statement, the Televisa network said it was coming out of the air for a “programming setting.”
