“Do you know xavier is a tall and white man?” To which the artist answered very excitedly: “‘Oh, yes. I can wear makeup,'” recalled Lauren, who met with him before the audition.
For the interview Michael took his 1996 video “Ghosts”, a video he wrote and starred in and in which the singer plays all the characters of the same, in order to show his versatility in standing in front of the camera and his acting skills.
“Michael was in the eye of the hurricane over the accusations against him (for sexual abuse) at the time,” a Fox executive recalled about that episode. The reason why the network did not want to include the Pop star in the film and the possibility that the singer played Xavier was unworkable.
