We always wanted the face of our music to be our songs. We also elaborated it in a much more rejected context, at the time I lived rap on one side much more answerable and we did not want to be part of that package that they sold you to be a rapper. The stereotype outweighed the intrinsic question of the genre that is poetry,” explained the 29-year-old musician.
Today Kamada is one of the most recognized groups of the Argentine underground and the song “Nirvana Verbal”, released in 2014 on the album Kamada Tres Cuatro, is the most listened to on YouTube, with a total of 1,227,211 views. For most of his career, with some comings and goings, Saje raped alongside Kelo, his best friend and colleague, but in recent years he premiered some of his songs as a soloist, among them “Meta Aforismos”, belonging to his EP “Sajelodonte”. The audience of Kamada is one of the most faithful of the movement and as he raped in a lyric, today the children tattoo their phrases: “For me it’s crazy, this started as a hobby, I broke my old lady’s eggs… They told me he was a madman, the black sheep or a Yankee. One of the keys to understanding daniel Patricio’s lyrics is to know the difficulties he went through in his life and that implied in a text he published in which he mentioned a cave that wouldn’t let him see his person: “In 2013 it happened the event that definitely marked me that it was the loss of my mom , who suffered the sad disease that is cancer, and above all because she was the economic and spiritual axis. In my house a tornado passed that transformed my whole life and as a result I had to go to live in La Tablada… that cave I’m talking about has to do with that period of chaos I experienced,” he recalled. He added: “If I hadn’t gone through all those kinds of complicated situations, I wouldn’t be writing my lyrics today, I wouldn’t think what I think, my works wouldn’t be what they are, because I extracted the raw material from that pain. If I have anything to tell today, that’s why.”
Saje doesn’t live off his music, he has a job and paddles it like everyone else, day by day: “I’m working remotely for the coronavirus, I have a salary and I don’t live in rap, I’d like to do it and I’m working for that and not to disappoint my intellectual honesty. I have other elements that can make me live off music, but I don’t want to live off music, I want to live off rap, we have to deserve it and earn it staggeredly. The things that are on everyone’s lips are not necessarily transformative.” Finally, he anticipated that he is preparing several singles for the remaining of the year, a single with rapper Rei All’a, another album with Kamada and also revealed that they recorded several tracks with friendly artists but did not go out for time.
