Journalist Arturo Alba Medina, 49, a Telediario driver at Multimedia Television, was shot dead Thursday night inside a vehicle in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
According to local media, at 21:52 hours the report of a dead man by firearm projectile was received – up to 11 shots are reported – in the Hidalgo colony, at the crossroads of Uruguay and Tepeyac streets.
Minutes before his murder, the journalist was in the conduct of the newscast Telediario, on channel 6 of Multimedia, where he reported the murder of Jennifer Amador Moreno, a minor was allegedly killed in the city of Chihuahua by agents of the State Public Security Commission, as well as a confrontation between state agents with alleged members of the group La Línea, in the municipality of Buenaventura.
Alba Medina is the sixth journalist killed in Ciudad Juarez since 2000. At the state level, they’ve added up to 23 homicides of informants over the past 20 years.

Alba Medina also served as a spokesman for the Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez.
