PS Deputy Gastón Saavedra referred to statements by Sofofa President Bernardo Larraín Matte, who accused those who from Congress defend the second withdrawal of 10% of AFPs from Congress.
In the opinion of the parliamentarian, a member of the Committee on Labour, “Mr Bernardo Larraín Matte acts authoritarianly on behalf of the owners of the AFPs trying to meddle in a power of state and that is unacceptable.”
“He tries with his statements to influence an autonomous power that has its prerogatives. But Mr Larraín Matte also defjects criticism, because the withdrawal of 10% of afps is due precisely to the absence of public and social policies that help thousands of Chileans. This gentleman def diverts the criticism he should point out to the government of his President Piñera,” he added.
Saavedra concluded by emphasizing, in a blunt way, “that we do not act in a populist way, we act as a result of the needs of the people who choose us and not for the benefit of the big companies that for years have gained millions and today have not been able to support to get out of this post-pandemic economic crisis.”
