Filming began on the second season of “House of the Dragon”

HBO’s original drama “House of the Dragon” based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood” has begun production at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom. The series, which takes place some 200 years before the events in ‘Game of Thrones’, tells the story of House Targaryen. House of the Dragon is back. We’re thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family as well as new talent on both sides of the camera. All of their favorite characters will soon conspire at council tables, march with their armies, and ride their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store,” said Ryan Condal, co-creator, showrunner and executive producer of the series.Photo: Courtesy of the pressThe cast of this second season includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham also return. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood,” Martin is co-creator and executive producer along with Ryan Condal, who also serves as showrunner. The executive producers of this new season are Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere and Vince Gerardis.
