These are specifically 21,315 new cases which, with the deaths of the last hours, total 3,223,142 cases and 102,145 deaths since the start of the pandemic. A total of 2,589,731 people have already recovered across the country, 9,835 of them in recent hours. Pressure on hospitals continues to increase: there are now 3,082 people in intensive care. In the ordinary rooms patients increased by 365 compared to yesterday, bringing the total to 24,518.By region, Lombardy remains the hardest hit, with 667,038 total cases, almost 4,300 in the last hours, followed by Veneto (354,000 total cases) and Campania (303,000). The increase in the positive rate, which is at 7.98 per cent on Sunday, is again worrying, a percentage point more than on the eve. More than 6,600,000 Italians have received the first dose of the vaccine and nearly two million have received the two necessary injections. Given the situation, from 3 to 5 April, days of Easter holidays in Italy, the whole country will enter the so-called ‘red zone’ in which restaurants can only serve at home or to take away and interprovincial travel is prohibited, as well as limiting the number of visits to other homes to a daily and with a maximum of two people. Provinces with a seven-day incidence of more than 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants will also be located in this same risk zone from 15 March to 6 April.
