Morelia, Michoacán.- To establish more specific details about the discussions to be organized by the Electoral Institute of Michoacán (IEM), which are intended to allow the confrontation of ideas, that citizens know each of the candidates for face and name, as well as their proposals and solutions to issues of importance in the state, the General Council of the electoral management body approved the dates, time and venue for the two mandatory debates to the Michoacán Gubernatura in the Ordinary Electoral Process 2020-2021
The two democratic exercises will take place on 21 April and 12 May, with 21 days away from each other, which will start at 19:00 hours with a maximum duration of 150 minutes, contemplating that it is a schedule at which you can have a greater audience, thus complying with the principle of maximum publicity, in addition to one of the objectives is that they are seen by as many people as possible.
The Michoacán Hall of the Morelia Convention and Exhibition Centre (Ceconexpo) was chosen as its headquarters, as it meets the technical and space requirements, the latter aspect is relevant to the scenario of the current pandemic, as it is appropriate to establish the corresponding health protocols, thus guaranteeing the right to health of candidates, as well as the staff who will participate in the organization of the debates and other invited persons.
The topics for the first exercise will be: Economy, Health and Education, and Citizen Participation, where the latter item the citizenry can propose sub-items or questions of greatest interest to the population and, for the second debate, the topics of Government / Governance, Public Finance, Transparency and Accountability will be touched on, and there will also be participation of Michoacans and Michoacans.
Likewise, citizens were invited to witness the dialogue table “Debates in Pandemic” to be held next Monday at 17:00 hours, with the participation of Directors of the local electoral bodies of Coahuila and Hidalgo, as well as the National Coordination of Social Communication of the National Electoral Institute (INE).

The Directors and Electoral Councillors who make up the General Council of the Electoral Institute of Michoacán also approved changes to the agreement of the Coalition “Together We Will Make History in Michoacán”, presented by the parties Movement National Regeneration (Morena) and Labor (PT), as well as amendments in Common Candidacies, which requested the parties of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), National Action (PAN) and Institutional Revolutionary (PRI).
