Christian Democracy (DC) MP Gabriel Silber tested positive for the COvid-19 PCR test, so he remains quarantined at home.
The information was confirmed by the Chamber of Deputies that started security protocols and the traceability process.
According to Emol, Silber worked face-to-face this week and had lunch with some of his peers, who could also initiate a pre-trial quarantine.
In that line, Deputy Matthias Walker was considered close contact. “Because I have been mr Silber’s close contact, I have been told that I must comply with pre-trial quarantine until Sunday 4 April. I then have to have a PCR on Monday 5. To take care of us all, traceability is key,” he said.
“In this period I will continue to work telematically, participating in commission sessions and Camera rooms via zoom. The same is done in relation to the activities of territorial work in the Coquimbo Region,” he added.
To this is also added Mr Daniel Verdessi, while Silber’s partner, Senator Loreto Carvajal, will have a PCR test.
On his situation, Gabriel Silber reported on his Twitter account that he “tested positive for PCR Covid. I’ll be under strict quarantine in my home. I feel good and have somewhat stronger cold symptoms.”
“I will continue to telematically participate in legislative work and support our country more than ever in these difficult times,” he added.
