Guadalajara, Jalisco.- The state of Jalisco has already allocated in the calendar a day to remember the constant struggle that has been experienced in the entity, the country and the whole world against the covid-19 pandemic.Through a publication made in the Official Newspaper of the State of Jalisco was assigned to March 13 as the State Day of Combating SARS-CoV-2 , better known as Covid-19.

The date assigned to the commemoration is consistent with the arrival of the pandemic in Jalisco, a state located in western Mexico, which had already been four months since it emerged in Wuhan, China and two weeks after the first case was filed in Mexico, specifically in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa.

The first fatality as a result of Covid-19 appeared 11 days later, on March 24. Today the announcement that Jalisco will feature a State Day to Fight SARS-CoV-2 comes a few days apart from the University of California San Francisco’s Institute of World Health Sciences awarding recognition to the Government of Jalisco for its outstanding management in the face of the pandemic.
