“Nine children between the age of 7 and 12 are the protagonists of a new fact that shows the vulnerability of minors in the Sename,” said O’Higgins district 15 deputy Raúl Soto, who called for an urgent investigation to protect children who accuse home caregivers of abuse.
Similarly, Deputy Diego Schalper (RN) officiated the Sename and the Children’s Ombudsman’s Office for the fact that it occurred on Sunday at the Catalina Kentenich home.
Deputy Soto demanded to investigate all the edges and all the officials involved in the allegations of abuse and added that “we will not allow this to continue to happen, here the children had to escape from a place where they are supposed to be cared for and protected, so that the authorities who must ensure their safety find out what is going on in there. There is no audit here and we will not miss another fact of violation of the rights of children and adolescents anymore.”
“This must stop now, we are going to exercise all the control tools that we have from parliament to investigate one by one the responsibilities in this case, we will follow all the steps that are also taken from the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office to ensure their rights and safeguard their security,” Mr Soto concluded.
The children escaped from the Catalina Kentenich residence, run by the Maria Ayuda Foundation. In this regard, they reported that the event occurred around 5 p.m. on Sunday. There were 3 girls and 6 boys between 7 and 11 years old.
