The United Workers’ Central (CUT) this Friday delivered the results of the elections to elect the directive for the period 2021-2025.
During this day, the votes obtained by each list were reported, and therefore the number of directors each will have. Let us remember that 45 titular national directors and 15 alternate national directors are elected, who make up the National Board of Directors (CDN).
The contenders for the presidency of the CUT are the current helmsman Bárbara Figueroa – in search of a third term – the current Secretary General Nolberto Días, and the leaders José Manuel Díaz, Fabián Caballero and Jorge González.
At 22 hours the results of the lists were delivered: List A gets 12 headlines; List B 27; C 1, D 2 and E 3. As for the alternate advisers, A 4, B 9, and E 2.
In terms of parties, List A was associated with the Communist Party and B was associated with the Socialist Party. In this way, the next president of the CUT will be one of the B. Figueroa list, the current president, was on list A, so he will not be able to go for a third term. The B was commanded by the leader José Manuel Díaz.
