Zitácuaro, Mich. – The group of demonstrators who blocked during the morning and afternoon of this Friday the road of access and exit of the municipality of Zitácuaro, to ask for a stop to extortions, agreed to establish a work agenda with municipal authorities and the security forces of the three orders of government.
Mayor Hugo Alberto Hernández Suárez led a meeting requested by protesters inside the Municipal Palace.
During the meeting the municipal president established work commitments and a permanent accompaniment, until the last day of his function at the head of the municipal administration, as well as the invitation to the incoming City Council to continue with the established.
It was agreed to follow up on the investigation into crimes committed on the road sections where the transporters circulate, to carry out constant monitoring of the progress made by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office on the investigations, to strengthen security on the borders with the State of Mexico, to increase vigilance in certain road sections where they have been victims of crimes, to prevent acts of corruption and extortion by traffic or security elements and to promote respect for the human rights.

Hernández Suárez emphasized that accompaniment will be given to victims to manage complaints in the instances that are the sphere of competence and that dialogue will be privileged, as one of the main mechanisms for resolving conflicts.
As a result, the demonstrators desisted from continuing with the blockades.
