Morelia, Michoacán.- After the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Michoacán (TEEM) voted to remove a plurinominal deputation from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) for overrepresentation, the state leadership announced that it will file an appeal before the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF).
Eligio González Farías, the president of the State Steering Committee (CDE) said that “The criteria applied TEEM in which it was determined to revoke the plurinominal deputation to Daniela de los Santos Torres, are plagued by inconsistencies, by not adhering to the provisions of the State Constitution,” so this Monday they are already preparing a legal route.
He considered that the allocation of the proportional representation seat to Morena is illegal, since it is not attached to the Constitution of Michoacan and therefore they are going to gather elements to reverse this decision.
It should be noted that the challenge to the plurinominal deputation granted to Daniela de los Santos was not only filed by Morena, but also by the legal team Julieta López Bautista, former coordinator of social communication of the michoacan government and who was left out of the plurinominal positions assigned to the PRD.
