translated from Spanish: this will be the return to classes in the Edomex

In the State of Mexico, the return to classes -on August 30-, will be carried out under a hybrid scheme, that is, students will be able to take classes remotely and in person.
Although, according to the Edomex authorities, it will be the mothers and fathers who will determine whether or not to send their children.

Governor Alfredo del Mazo stressed that the return to face-to-face classes will be based on a protocol that establishes staggered attendance and following the prevention measures against COVID-19.
He said the decision was made to have classes staggered to reduce the number of students in the classrooms.
For example, a group of students will attend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; while the other group Tuesday and Thursday.

The following week will be the other way around: those students who were three days, will attend only Tuesday and Thursday; those that were two days, will go Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the governor explained.
Likewise, Del Mazo recommended to those students who have any ailment or comorbidity that they better wait to return to the classrooms in person.

As part of the protocol for safe return, Alfredo del Mazo commented that three sanitary filters will be enabled; the first in the students’ homes; the second when entering the school and the third in the classrooms.
In a message transmitted by his social networks, the official pointed out that the state has been preparing for this stage for some time, and through the health and Civil Protection committees, monitoring will continue in schools, in addition to reviewing the infrastructure conditions in the schools.

He added that there is a great challenge for the safe return to school, more so when 18 months of health contingency have passed, although he highlighted the progress in the vaccination campaign.
As of this Friday, August 20, 11.5 million doses against COVID-19 have been applied in the State of Mexico.
The Mexican entity continues at the orange level of the epidemiological traffic light, and will remain so for the next two weeks.
