On Friday, Zaineb, an Afghan citizen who fled her country and is the sister of Zahra Habibi, a medical student at the University of Chile, arrived in the country.
Zahra herself asked the government for help in bringing her family from Afghanistan after the Taliban seized power. This is because his sister is divorced, which is sanctioned by fundamentalists, so her life was in danger.
The same university began the processes with the Foreign Ministry and after a long trip, managed to reach the country from Argentina, after traveling from Pakistan. The trans-Andean country was key because Chile is not based in that country.
After her arrival, Foreign Minister (s) Carolina Valdivia, explained that “she asked us for help to come to our country, where her sister, nephew and friends were waiting for her. This has been a very long journey, a journey not only physical to move from Kabul to Pakistan. Then to Dubai, then to Paris and finally to Chile.”
Valdivia thanked the Chilean consuls of the different countries and the Argentine Foreign Ministry, “since as we do not have diplomatic representation in Pakistan where Zainab was and we look for the closest countries, where Argentina helped us.”
The young woman must carry out the corresponding sanitary protocols and a mandatory quarantine of 7 days.
