Nine armed civilians were killed by elements of the Army and state forces in the municipalities of Hidalgo and Guerrero, Coahuila, after a confrontation, according to state government reports.
In a statement, the local government reported that in the action of Operation Northeast, composed of elements of the Secretariat of National Defense of the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, two vehicles were seized -one of them with artisanal armor-, as well as 10 weapons, including a “Barret” type.

According to the version of the authorities, the confrontation occurred after an aggression towards elements of the State Police, when they were carrying out a supervision and surveillance tour in a gap in the direction of the Anahuac-Colombia Highway, around 3:15 p.m. on September 16.
After repelling the attack, the uniformed received support from elements of the Army, “who when carrying out reconnaissance in their search gave reach to a group of the aggressors, who upon feeling the presence of the forces of order confronted them and were killed,” the statement details.
The coordinated search operation to locate the rest of the aggressors continues.
