After the Comptroller General of the Republic set its eye on the presidential delegate of the Metropolitan Region, Felipe Guevara, he made the decision to resign from his position.
Through a brief statement, the Presidency reported that “the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera, has accepted the resignation of the presidential delegate of the Metropolitan Region, Felipe Guevara. In his place, President Piñera has appointed Emardo Hantelmann, who served as undersecretary of the Ministry General Secretariat of Government.”
He also points out that “the President of the Republic has the greatest success to the new presidential delegate and thanks the work done by Felipe Guevara.”
Guevara’s resignation is related to a summary of the Comptroller’s Office against him for possible conflict of interest in relation to a millionaire contract awarded to his brother. The complaint has to do with the beginning of the construction project of the San Gregorio Sports Center, in La Granja, an old desire of the residents of the commune and other sectors of the southern area of Santiago, since it contemplated swimming pools and facilities for the practice of various sports, for an amount of $ 6,770 million, which was granted to the company constituted by the company Constructora Lima and Matías Guevara Stephens.
