The lawyer of the City police officers accused of killing Lucas González spoke: “They were investigating drug trafficking”

Alfredo Oliván, the lawyer appointed to defend the three City police officers accused of killing Lucas González, spoke Friday about the procedural situation of the officers and assured that there could be an arrest warrant in the coming hours. You have to see what they felt, they had not gone for a walk, they were investigating serious facts, of drug trafficking,” Oliván said.
The three accused police officers are Officer Juan José Nieva, Senior Officer Fabián Andrés López and Inspector Gabriel Alejandro Isass, who were in plain clothes and in an unidentified car at the time of the crime. The incident happened on Wednesday morning, when Lucas and three friends left the Barracas Central club, in the southern part of the city. They stopped at a kiosk at the door of villa 21-24 and the car in which the officers were moving approached them without identifying themselves.

“Their situation is one of sadness, it is one of pain, obviously not comparable to that of Lucas’ relatives. It is a situation of pain for a regrettable death,” added Oliván, who assured that Nieva, López and Isass “only try to fulfill their mission.” The information that the Justice has so far is that the police shot 12 times at the car in which the young people were moving. Two of those shots hit Lucas Gonzalez, killing him.” It is necessary to determine how many shots came out of each weapon. I cannot confirm that the three policemen fired. No one knows who is the author of those two shots that caused the death of the boy,” he said in dialogue with Todo Noticias.
