Step by Step Plan: 27 communes regressed from phase after increase in infections and the vaccination process exceeds 90% of the target population

In a new day of the balance of the covid situation in Chile, the Ministry of Health announced changes in the Step by Step Plan, which highlights the phase setback of 27 communes. In addition, information was provided on the vaccination process, which exceeded 90% in the target group of people over 18 years of age.
In the changes of the Step by Step Plan, the communes that advance to Preparation from Wednesday, November 24 from 5 am are: Quintero, Parral, Retiro, Chaitén and Palena.
The communes that advance to Initial Opening are: Combarbalá, San Vicente, Pichidegua, La Unión, Lago Ranco and Cisnes.
The communes that go back to Transition are: Vallenar, Diego de Almagro, Huasco, Caldera, Hualañé, Puyehue and Osorno.
The communes that go back to Preparation are: Pozo Almonte, Chañaral, Copiapó, Río Hurtado, Navidad, Curepto, Sagrada Familia, San Nicolás, Negrete, Arauco, Cañete, Santa Bárbara, Yumbel, Mariquina, Calbuco, San Juan de la Costa, Queilen, Puerto Montt, Quinchao and Chonchi.
Vaccination process
Regarding the vaccination process, the undersecretary announced the probability of admission to the ICU according to the vaccination schedule. “When we have the full schedule, plus the booster dose, you’re 17 times less likely to become seriously ill. Getting vaccinated is an act of solidarity,” he said.
The incidence of admission to the ICU in the population over 18 years of age is 6.09% without the vaccination schedule. With the complete vaccination schedule it is 1.33%. While with the booster dose in people over 14 years of age it reaches 0.35%.
Regarding the inoculation process in children and adolescents, 4,778,956 people between 6 and 17 years old were vaccinated. On the other hand, 2,071,513 people between 6 and 11 years old have been inoculated.
As of November 21, 90.76% of the target population over the age of 18 completed their vaccination schedule, while 93.37% have their first dose and/or their single dose.
