Transportation plan for elections reported: There will be 1,200 special tours

The Minister of Transport, Gloria Hutt, reported that this Sunday, December 19, on the occasion of the second round of the presidential elections, 1,200 special routes will be available, and more than 950 special subsidized services, which are those that operate permanently in different rural areas. We have arranged a wide range of transport services to facilitate people’s access to polling places. We care a lot that all people have the necessary connectivity to be able to exercise their right to vote, especially those who live in isolated and remote areas,” said Hutt.The Metrotren-Nos, Santiago Rancagua Train, Valparaíso Metro, Constitución Talca Train, Biotrén and the rail service between Talcahuano and Hualqui stations will operate free of charge. In Santiago, meanwhile, Metro will be free throughout the day, will begin operating at 07 hours and will close at 23 hours. Metropolitan Public Transport buses will operate at full capacity, with a “big window” rush hour between 09 hours and 18 hours.
