María Elisa Quinteros became the new president of the Constitutional Convention, after obtaining the exact 78 votes she needed to fill the position. His election was settled in the ninth vote within the body, in a vote that had been suspended at 4 a.m. and that resumed today at 3:40 p.m. Already seated in the testera next to Elisa Loncón and Jaime Bassa, she thanked the support of the other representatives. “I would like to thank you for the support and affection shown. We hope that we will know how to lead this process with wisdom, understanding, strength, where we can unite all sectors for what we need for the country, for all the peoples of Chile, which is unity, transformation, peace, justice,” he said.
