More than 90% of the country’s teachers completed their vaccination schedule

The Ministry of Education reported that more than 90% of teachers at the initial, primary, secondary and university levels throughout the country have already completed their vaccination scheme against the coronavirus. According to the report prepared by the Secretariat of Evaluation and Educational Information of the national portfolio, a total of 1,001,379 (91.9%) teachers completed their scheme and 430,488 already have the third dose of reinforcement. The survey highlighted that 93.7% of the teaching staff at the initial level completed the scheme, while of that percentage 48% have already received the third booster dose.

In the case of primary, 92.1% have two doses and 41.4% of that total also received the booster dose. 91.2% of the teachers at medium level completed the vaccination schedule and, out of that total, 42.8% received the third dose. At the university level, 91.2% have two doses, while 41.8% have already been inoculated with the booster dose. The head of the education portfolio, Jaime Perczyk, said that vaccination “guarantees us a start of the 2022 school year with full and safe face-to-face attendance”: “There is no teaching without teachers and the level of vaccination is a clear sign of their vocation, not only for education but also for the health of our people,” he added in a statement.
