“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” reveals the first images of the series

The universe that J.R.R. Tolkien thought and wrote not only marveled at his books, and captivated entire generations with its film adaptations, but continues – in addition to how wonderful it is to meet again with its pages and films – generating productions that pay homage to him. Which brings us to the arrival of this year the first series, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, which revealed unpublished official images.

Before moving on to your statements it is important to remember what the series will be about? What period will you approach and what books will you adapt from Tolkien?

the story will be set many years before the events of “The Lord of the Rings”, even “The Hobbit”: it will be centered on the Second Age, after the events of the novel The Silmarillion.

“It will lead viewers back to an era where great powers were forged, kingdoms came to glory and fell into ruin, unexpected heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest threads, and the greatest villain to ever emerge from Tolkien’s pen threatened to plunge the world into darkness, “he will ever emerge from The pen,” advances its synopsis.

The series will follow a group of characters—both new and familiar—as they face the much-feared resurgence of evil in Middle-earth. “From the darkest depth of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the capital of the elves, Lindon, to the stunning island of the kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will endure in our legacy long after they are gone,” the preview continues.

On this, McKay confirmed to the media that he maintained statements with the heirs of Tolkien and also “opened the umbrella” -as he says- in the face of the possibility that many fans will not feel satisfied with the adaptation because there will be some changes.

“If we were totally faithful, we would have to tell a story where our human characters die every season because you jump 200 years in time and you’re not going to meet the important characters within the canon until season 4. There may be some fans who would like a Documentary of Middle-earth, but we are going to tell a story that unites everything,” promised its creator.
