Mazatlan has surpassed one thousand 600 deaths from Covid-19

A reminder. Yesterday, Mazatlan exceeded one thousand 600 deaths due to covid-19. There are one thousand 601 citizens killed by complications related to the pandemic, the accumulated one reported yesterday by the Ministry of Health. Three deaths during the last 24 hours, only in Mazatlan; 24 statewide. That means that every hour, a Sinaloan dies due to that disease. The figures are, for many, a sign of the lethal threat that covid-19 still poses to public health. That is the epidemiological panorama that from tomorrow will frame the carnival, the most multitudinous celebration of the entity, authorized by the State Government, very despite the warnings made by the health sector. The last carnival, held in 2020, a few days before the pandemic arrived, attracted 1.6 million participants. During the six days of festivities, 1.3 million people converged in the dance area of Olas Altas. Now, the government of Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres assures that they will put access caps. We will have to see how it turns out. They will be held accountable.  Yesterday, Sergio Torres, state leader of the Citizen Movement party, was in Mazatlan. He came to say what he had already announced in Culiacán: that they will request accountability once the carnival days in Mazatlan pass. During a press conference, he held the governor of the state, Rubén Rocha Moya, responsible for the effects that the massive party could generate on the public health of Sinaloa. In passing, he gave the endorsement to the Secretary of Health, Héctor Melesio Cuen Ojeda. He said that the governor did not want to listen to the warnings that, in terms of health, Cuen argued so that the party would not be authorized. What Sergio Cruz did not say is whether the party will promote an impeachment trial against the officials involved in the organization of the carnival, for crimes of omission in matters of public health. That would be taking his criticism into action. Balconies. A video shown on social networks exposed the modus operandi of some transit agents in Mazatlan. What happened was no small thing. An intrepid driver drove along the sidewalk of the boardwalk and then went to the bike path, to then be intercepted by two road agents who followed his path on a motorcycle. However, they apparently did not proceed as marked by the Traffic Law and let the occupants go in the vehicle, allegedly after receiving a bribe or, as it is colloquially said, a ‘bite’. This case would have gone unnoticed if it weren’t for a citizen who videotaped the driver’s boldness. When the bosses realized, car and occupants had put dirt in between. Public Security Secretary Juan Ramon Alfaro Gaxiola argued that his boys were arrested and are under administrative proceedings. Citizen complaint. The delegate of Roads and Transport in Mazatlan, Mario Rafael González Sánchez, should carry out his operations in the afternoon-evening to collect the opinion of the citizens on the treatment provided by public transport drivers. To this newsroom came a complaint against the operator of the Águilas del Pacífico truck, with number 15483, route Hogar del Pescador, who on Monday afternoon gave a bad treatment to a student who was on board. The citizens also denounced that the driver did not respect the capacity of passengers, much less the sanitary protocols that Capi González has proclaimed so much and that the carriers should comply with. Thus the performance of some public transport drivers who, far from being educated with users, behave like beasts.
