Santiago Court of Appeals Establishes Shortlist for Mortgage Conservator

The Plenary of the Court of Appeals of Santiago defined the shortlist for the position of curator of the registry of mortgages and encumbrances of the capital. The proposals – which arise after the death of the former head of the post, Juan Edmundo Rojas, who died in August 2021 – will go to the Ministry of Justice.
According to Radio Bío Bío, the shortlist is made up of the real estate curator and judicial archivist of Talca, Camila Jorquiera Monardez (21 votes); the notary and curator of mines titular of Concepción, Carlos Miranda Jiménez (15 votes) and the conservator of real estate and titular judicial archivist of Copiapó, Tomás Jarpa Concha (17 votes).
According to the rules of the contest, if any applicant or association of officials of the Judicial Power “considers that the shortlist does not comply with the formalities established or violates the rights established in the Organic Code of Courts, may submit within three calendar days a claim to the body that formed it,” says the aforementioned media.
In the event that the three-day period is met without any claim, whoever is the head of Justice will be in a position to choose the next conservator of the registry of mortgages and encumbrances of Santiago.
Regarding the score of the applicants, there are those who obtained a better one than the shortlist proposed by the high court.
Specifically, Camila Jorquiera Monardez obtained 79.50 of final score -from a scale up to 90-; Carlos Miranda, 82.30; and Tomás Jarpa Concha, 72.50.
Other candidates for the contest, such as the real estate conservator and titular judicial archivist of Arica, Fernando Monterola Salas, had 85.90 points. Another case is that of the real estate conservator and judicial archivist of Puente Alto, Sergio Yáber Lozano, who was left with 86.70 of final score.
