An earthquake of 4.8 is registered in Guerrero, active alert in CDMX

An earthquake of 4.8 magnitude was registered on Friday afternoon in Guerrero, reported the National Seismological Service (SSN).
The earthquake triggered alerts in Mexico City, where the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, are checking if there were any affectations.
The quake had its epicenter six kilometers southwest of Acapulco, the SSN said.

The head of the capital’s government said in a video published on social networks that there was no perception of the earthquake in Mexico City, but all the protocols were activated and “everything is fine.”

The local Secretary of Security also reported on Twitter that there are five helicopters flying over the CDMX and assured that so far there is no news.

In an information card, the capital government indicated that the Cablebús launched its protocol for reviewing facilities, while the Metro and Metrobús continue with their operations. In the Metrobus, there is “slow and careful march before people who evicted buildings.”
The Light Rail was also launched after a review and the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) has landings and takeoffs “normally”.
On September 19, it will be 37 years since the 1985 earthquake that hit the country’s capital, and five of the earthquake that was registered in 2017 in the capital and State of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
