Campana: A young man was arrested for the crime of a truck driver during an assault

The arrest was made in the last hours at a home on Ahumada Street at 100, in the jurisdiction of the aforementioned municipality located about 90 kilometers north of the City of Buenos Aires.Police and judicial sources reported that the operation was deployed by personnel of the local police station and the Departmental Delegation of Investigations (DDI) by order of the prosecutor of the case, Ana Laura Brizuela.During the procedure, the Police kidnapped some belongings of the victim, who worked for a transport company in the Buenos Aires town of Cañuelas.The suspect, identified as Eric Vergara, was investigated this afternoon for the crime of “homicide criminis causa”, to the detriment of Matías Norberto Jaime (42), which provides for the penalty of life imprisonment. According to sources, the young man refused to testify before prosecutor Brizuela and will continue to be detained. The crime occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, March 3, in Juan de Garay at 900, where the man, who was driving a white Fiat Iveco truck, had finished loading sand at a company and was waiting for a shipment. At that moment, an armed criminal who was on board a red Yamaha motorcycle intercepted him to steal his cell phone and his belongings. Jaime resisted and the assailant fired a shot that hit the neck of the truck driver, who fell to the ground seriously injured. The sources added that the thief fled the scene at full speed with the victim’s cell phone and wallet. The man was found dead as a result of injuries sustained on the side of his truck, which was with the engine running.
