The Minister of Education of Buenos Aires ruled out changes in the use of the mask

The general director of Culture and Education of the province of Buenos Aires, Alberto Sileoni, said that in Buenos Aires territory “they follow the guidelines of the Federal Health Council (COFESA)” on health care in the classroom. I do not get involved in the decisions of other jurisdictions, we continue with the guidelines of COFESA,” said the minister when asked on Rebelde radio about the decision of the Buenos Aires government to remove the mandatory use of the mask in schools in the City of Buenos Aires. In this sense, he indicated that in the Buenos Aires territory “it is the Ministry of Health that is setting the way” and that as an education authority it is “very satisfied with the route.”

In that line, he pointed out that at this point around “1,800 schools have been vaccination venues for children from 3 to 11 years old” and that “all preventive precautions in schools” are maintained. The Federal Health Council (COFESA) reported yesterday that both the committee of experts that advises the Ministry of Health of the Nation, and the Health Education work table, in which the Pan American Health Organization, the Argentine Society of Pediatrics and UNICEF participate, “have recommended continuing with the mandatory use of the mask including school environments given the time of year and the possible concomitant circulation of different respiratory viruses.”
