The message of Zelenskiy, President of Ukraine, at the Grammys

This Sunday, April 3, the 64th Grammy Ceremony is taking place in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. During the awards ceremony, a pre-recorded message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was broadcast. The clip came before artist John Legend performed a song called “Free,” which translates to freedom.
“What is more opposed to music than that?” began Zelensky. “Our musicians wear armor instead of ball gowns. They sing to the wounded in hospitals. Even those who can’t even hear them. But the music comes anyway.” He continued: “In any case, we defend our freedom to live, to love, to be heard. In our land, we are fighting against Russia, which silences us with its bombs. Fill that void with your music. Do it today, tell our story. Support us in any way you can. Anyone, but not with silence. Only in this way will peace come”:This same day Zelensky had declared to CBS that Russia was committing genocide in his nation: “We are citizens of Ukraine, we have more than 100 nationalities, it is about the destruction and extermination of all these nationalities.”
