Massa and Cristina Kirchner signed appointment of new members to the Council

The presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, in charge of Sergio Massa, signed the resolution by which he accepted the request of the radical interbloc and appointed the Santa Cruz Roxana Reyes as representative of the second minority before the Council of the Magistracy of the Nation. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, signed the resolution by which she appointed Senators Martín Doñate and Guillermo Snopek, of Unidad Ciudadana, as titular and alternate representatives of the ruling party, respectively, in the Council of the Magistracy.
“In order to avoid a completely irregular imbalance between the different levels of the Council of the Magistracy, and further aggravate the institutional situation, we communicate to you what has been resolved in both bodies in our capacity as presidents of both Chambers,” they based on a joint note sent to the Supreme Court. The appointments are made “for the purposes of enabling the joint and simultaneous swearing in with the other councilors who complete these levels,” Added. The two representatives of the Congress before the Council are part of the seven new members that from today will make up the body, which will thus have 20 members, instead of the 13 of the current conformation. The new composition, which is the one that was in force until 2006, was reinstated since the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional the law that worked since that last year and Congress did not move forward with new legislation.
