Erik Ten Hag is Manchester United’s new manager

The English club Manchester United made official today the hiring of the Dutchman Erik Ten Hag as the new technical director of the squad for the next three seasons, although there is an option to renew for one more. Ten Hag, 52, will end his contract with Ajax Amsterdam, where he had been since December 2017, and will take over in the English squad once all competitions this season are over.

Manhcester United sporting director John Murtough said: “Over the past four years at Ajax, Erik proved to be one of Europe’s most successful coaches, recognised for his team’s attractive and attacking football and for his commitment to youth. Ten Hag said: “It is a great honour to be named United manager and I am hugely excited about the challenge that awaits me. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans. I am determined to build a team capable of achieving the success it deserves.” It is worth mentioning that the Dutchman won two Eredevisie (local tournament), two Dutch Cup and a Super Cup with Ajax. In addition, he led the Amsterdam cast to the champions league semi-finals of the 2018/2019 season.
