Arson attack in Los Alamos: government confirms filing of complaint

The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, confirmed that the government will file a complaint for the arson attack registered this Thursday in the commune of Los Alamos, Biobío region, which left more than 30 machines and trucks burned.
“We want to reiterate the total, absolute and profound rejection of the government of President Gabriel Boric to the acts of violence. This is not the path in democracy, we do not share it, we do not accept it, we reject it and therefore we are going to pursue it from the criminal point of view,” the authority said, “said Monsalve at a press point.

“We hope that justice can identify those responsible and finally punish them for such serious acts, which alter security, public order and healthy coexistence in the province of Arauco and in the southern regions,” added the undersecretary.
In addition, he indicated that the Executive will announce on Friday a series of measures to curb violence in the area.
He also reported that the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, will meet on Friday with the general director of the Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, and the general director of the PDI, Sergio Muñoz, to address security matters.
