Warcraft Arclight Rumble: Warcraft comes to cell phones

Blizzard, the creator of Diablo, Overwatch and World of Warcraft, announced its new project for mobile devices set in the Warcraft universe.Warcraft Archlight Rumble is a free game that combines strategy, collectible cards and elements of the tower defense genre with an aesthetic reminiscent of Hearthstone, its trading card title.  The game is coming this year to Android and iOS devices.” Warcraft Arclight Rumble is a mobile action strategy game set in the Warcraft universe, where collectible Minis come to life to fight in frantic hand-to-hand fights, “Blizzard says in the official site description.

Archlight Rumble will offer a variety of game modes, including a single-player campaign, clashes against other players and even a cooperative option. The goal of the game is to conquer the enemy base by making use of an army composed of a variety of collectible figures known as “Minis” (the studio promises 65 at launch) that can be Troops or Leaders — each with their own characteristics and strengths. Leaders are special characters with abilities that can change the course of battle. There will be five factions to choose from: the Alliance, which excel in healing, defense, and stealth; the Horde, specialists in construction and attack; the Beasts, which can disable enemy defenses; Blackrock, with its flying troops and elemental magic; and the Undead, who use magic to raise an army of the dead on the battlefield.

During the games, players must collect gold in order to add figures or powers to the battlefield (each with its gold requirement), capture different objectives to control the map and be able to position troops in more advanced locations, and finally conquer the enemy base. Blizzard highlights the important strategy component of the game, because it will be essential to choose characters whose skills complement each other to have the best chances of victory. There’s no confirmed release date yet, and Blizzard didn’t announce what kind of microtransactions the game will use and how they will affect player development — critical to the balance of a free-to-play game. Warcraft Arclight Rumble is now available in the Android store for pre-registration and access to a preview of the game.
