“It is evident the differences we have in principle with President Bolsonaro, but I respect the sovereignty of the Brazilian people and, therefore, as head of state, if given the opportunity to meet and talk in terms of state, I will have no hesitation in doing so,” Boric said.
“We have several bilateral open. I, as a representative of the State of Chile, have the duty and mandate to interact with all the presidents of the countries of our region. We do not have any meeting today arranged, I do not rule it out,” he added.
Regarding the delay in the appointment of Depolo, President Boric indicated that “we have presented the agreement, the request for acceptance of the ambassador, and we expect a response from the Brazilian Foreign Ministry. That’s the right thing to do.”
“If we talk, it will surely be one of the topics that will be discussed. Foreign policy has to go beyond personal tastes,” the president added.

It should be noted that during the past week, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chamber of Deputies officiated to the Foreign Ministry to obtain a report on the delayed appointment.
