Víctor Garcés, former director of the Cruz Azul Cooperative, arrested in CDMX

Víctor Garcés, former legal director of the Cruz Azul Cooperative, was arrested on Friday in Mexico City, capital authorities confirmed to Political Animal.
Garcés was apprehended in Polanco in an operation by ministerial agents, according to the arrest record of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) reported in a statement that Garcés was arrested for the crime of falsification of statements. The investigation folder corresponding to this case was opened in 2021.

However, Garcés also faces charges in federal court for the crimes of organized crime and money laundering.
The arrest warrant for these federal crimes will be completed while Garcés is in detention, authorities from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) told this media.
The former executive was at large.
