Why shouldn’t you mix dish soap with chlorine?

Through a press release and in order to take care of the health of consumers, the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco), shared information on why you should not mix chlorine with your dish soap, as it can cause damage to health, here we share the data. According to information from the Attorney General’s Office, Chlorine is a universal disinfectant in common use, active against many microorganisms. It is a solution of 6% Sodium Hypochlorite dissolved in soda (Sodium Hydroxide), although they point out that commercially it also serves as a bleach. However, they point out that some people think that mixing chlorine with some other household cleaning and disinfection products can generate better results, but the Attorney General’s Office points out that this is false and dangerous. “Sometimes recommendations are made recklessly such as using it with hot water with the excuse that it increases its cleaning power, but that is a serious mistake. Chlorine should NEVER be heated, as it gives off highly toxic vapors with very serious consequences for the respiratory tract. In addition, when it evaporates, it loses its disinfectant function,” Profeco shared, adding that for health it is better to dilute it in cold water or at the same time. How should chlorine be used?  For floor cleaning you can use a solution diluted to 0.2%, that is, 1 part of Chlorine per 25 of Water.  Wash the bathroom: dilute 1⁄4 cup of chlorine in 2 liters of water, pour into the toilet, let stand 5 minutes and let the water run.  Washing linen: In washing machine add 1⁄2 cup of chlorine per 30 liters of water.  By hand it uses 1/3 cup of chlorine for every 9 liters of water.  Wash the dishes: dilute 1 1⁄2 tablespoon of chlorine in 1/2 liter of water.  Disinfect surfaces: dilute 1/3 cup of chlorine in 1.5 liters of water.  We recommend you read: Being in contact with Chlorine for a long time can cause itching, burning, hives and redness of the skin. If you have the chance, put on cleaning gloves when you use it; otherwise, wash with plenty of water and a neutral soap to stop the irritation.  Hooded Women and Police On Pro-Abortion March clash
