Alberto Fernández and Joe Biden agree on the unexpected rent law

In a dialogue with Radio 10, Alberto Fernández said that when he was in Los Angeles, on the occasion of the Summit of the Americas, Joe Biden referred to the initiative and told him that in the United States there will be a similar resolution: “He told me that in his country such a law is coming.” The President maintained that the law “must be approved by Congress” and revealed that Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, has already implemented it in her country. “The world is moving toward that direction,” he explained.

The bill will begin to be discussed in the coming days in the Chamber of Deputies. The initiative is exclusively aimed at companies with extraordinary profits and consists of the payment of an aliquot of 15%, for a single time.
“We have to work on the distribution so that the cake is distributed more equally, because if not 10% eat half of the cake and the other 90% eats of the other half. That’s not fair.”

From the Ministry of Economy, they assured that there are approximately 350 companies that meet the requirements to pay the unexpected rent, because they are the ones that in the last time their balance sheets were most favored. Sanctioned and applied the law, the final collection would be around US $ 1,000 million.
