False “defense” of García Luna

With no information other than uncouth accusations, trials are anticipated and pyres are lit. As a stellar example of probable narco-corruption, the former federal secretary of Public Security in the government of Felipe Calderón is repeatedly mentioned in the mornings. President López Obrador said yesterday: “Now that U.S. prosecutors declare that García Luna had bribed journalists and that he also planned to eliminate accomplices or witnesses, it was for the news to be transmitted in all the media. It did not appear in the radio programs, it did not appear in the newspapers, it did not appear in the ‘telera’, it was not a note (of course it was). I think one or two journalists were the only ones who defended it or who talked about it defending it…” Marin!” shouted his baton and he continued: “Yes, but I say, at least you have to recognize him that they gave (sic) the face, but others … Calderon himself did not speak. What ingratitude! So, yes there is a difference and we will continue like this. The important thing is that collusion is not allowed…”
By the allusion I affirm that I do not “defend” nor am I interested in “defending” García Luna and that I do not know whether or not he is a criminal, but I doubt what his accusers attribute to him and lynchers reply to whom illogical accusations are enough to judge, taking for granted a guilt that has not been proven in the courts (the trial may begin in October).
With precise data, I have highlighted the virolo of the core statements against him and the most recent, as I wrote here on Friday, I am hilarious with laughter.
Last night, in The Assault… of MILENIO tv the first part of my talk with Mike Vigil, former head of international operations of the DEA, who made me note the obviousness that, if García Luna worked for El Chapo Guzmán and from prison – through an inaccessible cell phone – wanted to “kill” someone, he would not have to resort to “the Russian mafia” to do the service, but only to ask the Sinaloa cartel from which, according to the drug trafficker Reynaldo, El Rey Zambada, he received millions of dollars “in a briefcase.”
The charges against him include the interpretation that he was corrupted in exchange for “protecting” the criminal organization, which is also far-fetched because, at best, he could answer for his police but not for the Army, Navy or Federal Ministerial Police.
So incredible an “arrangement” of such a nature as the “collusion” with organized crime that Porfirio Muñoz Ledo attributes to López Obrador, given the number of gangs that operate in the country (with which it would be necessary to “negotiate”) and that are not only those of Jalisco, Sinaloa and the Gulf, but at least 150 of lesser scope but just as bloodthirsty and violent.
With the official figures of the 4T, but neither to “defend” anyone, with simple arithmetic, I also record that the 121 thousand 642 murders that occurred in the first three and a half years of López Obrador’s administration exceed the 120 thousand 463 of the six-year term of the ex, the devil of the famous, although less deadly, “Calderón war …”.
