Eduardo Salvio gave details about his departure from Boca: “The renewal offer took a long time”

The footballer Eduardo Salvio spoke this Saturday with the media present at the Ezeiza airport before leaving for Mexico, where he will play for Pumas Unam, about his departure from Boca Juniors, a club that did not renew his contract. It’s a new beginning, so happy with one more adventure in my career and with the best expectations. For me it was a dream to wear the Boca shirt, a privilege. It is the team that I am a lifelong fan of and I leave with four titles, many games and goals. Regarding the frustrated negotiations to renew his contract, the midfielder commented: “The possibility of staying was there, but as everyone saw the renewal offer took a long time and for my part I knew that the possibility of leaving was there. The club wanted one thing, the player another, there was no agreement and I have to leave. But it’s all good, I’m leaving happy.” He added: “I waited for Boca until the end, that’s why I hadn’t closed anything with any club and I always told my representative that I wanted to wait for Boca’s offer until the last day. It came and unfortunately we didn’t agree.” Finally, Salvio spoke about his arrival in Mexico: “I want to compete to the maximum always. I’m 31 years old and looking to win things, titles, important matches and goals. Not because I’m going to Mexico that’s going to change. I’m going there and I want to be a champion.”
