A year ago, in July 2021, Nieto — who then headed the FIU — filed a criminal complaint against Mier, his partner Arturo Rueda and others for possible money laundering.
That file again attracted public attention this week and, in response, Mier, leader of the Morena caucus in the Chamber of Deputies, announced on Monday that he denounced before the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) Governor Miguel Barbosa, Puebla Senator Alejandro Armenta, Prosecutor Gilberto Higuera and Nieto himself for alleged crimes committed by public servants. revelation of secrecy and influence peddling.
