Elon Musk is booed at a Dave Chappelle show

The tycoon Elon Musk was booed on Sunday night by a group of people, and applauded by others, when he went on stage where he had been invited by comedian Dave Chapelle in San Francisco, as can be seen in a video that went viral on Monday on social networks.
In a video shared on Twitter, the crowd can be heard booing Musk for several minutes.

San Francisco is home to Twitter, a platform Tesla’s CEO bought this year for $44 million and has since come under fire for mass layoffs and less stringent content moderation.
“Cheers and boos, from what I see,” Chappelle said as Musk roamed the stage.
“You didn’t expect this, did you?” Musk asked Chappelle as boos sounded in the background.

“It looks like some of the people you fired are in the audience,” Chappelle joked and then tried to cheer people up again by saying those booed were because they had “terrible seats.”
However, the boos continued for several minutes and Musk only said during that time, “Thank you for inviting me.”

Then the SpaceX founder asked, “Dave, what do I say?” and Chappelle replied, “Don’t say anything. Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest.”
On Monday, Musk, in a tweet, said he “technically” received “90% applause and 10% booing,” although the viral video seems to indicate rather the opposite.
“Still, it’s a lot of booing, which is a novelty for me in real life (but) frequent on Twitter. It’s as if he offended the deranged leftists of SF… but nahhh,” he added.
