A man testifies before the Jalisco prosecutor’s office in the case of Luz Raquel Padilla

A man neighbor of Luz Raquel Padilla went to the Prosecutor’s Office of Jalisco on Wednesday, where he gives a statement about the aggression committed on Saturday against the 35-year-old woman. That day, Luz Raquel was burned in Zapopan and suffered injuries that caused her death yesterday.
The prosecutor of the entity, Luis Joaquín Méndez, informed the media that the man testifies as a witness and, for now, “is not materially positioned as one of the direct aggressors of Luz Raquel.” The man is identified as Sergio.
In the afternoon, Governor Enrique Alfaro also referred to this ministerial statement and assured that the authorities will find those responsible for the aggression and help Luz Raquel’s son.

On the terrible murder of Luz Raquel, there are many speculations, but the investigations of the @FiscaliaJal are ongoing and what I can say is that there is a person at the disposal of the MP giving testimony, we will find those responsible and we will help his son and family.

The woman was part of the collective Yo Cuido Mexico and had a child with autism.
In recent days, he had denounced threats from his neighbors, who complained about the noises his son made in times of crisis.

According to the governor, Luz Raquel had protective measures in place. However, people around him say that he tried to join the Pulse of Life program to obtain a panic button that would allow him to ask the police for help, but he was denied access to this mechanism.
For this Thursday, citizens plan to hold a rally at the representation of the Jalisco government in Mexico City, to demand justice for a case that has generated outrage and attracted national attention.
