“Eragon”, the successful fantasy saga prepares its series for Disney+

The successful fantasy saga that begins with the first novel Eragon will have its series for Disney+. While the Disney House works to continue bringing to its screens the stories that accompanied the growth of millions of children and adolescents in the world, it adds a new production to its calendar, along with the imminent “Percy Jackson the Gods of Olympus”. This was revealed by the American magazine Variety in the last hours, while confirming that the author of the books, Christopher Paolini will be co-showrunner and co-writer of the production.

Paolini, a passionate follower of notable literary adventures such as The Lord of the Rings (by J.R.R. Tolkien) and Dune (by Frank Herbert), began writing Eragon, the first novel in the saga, at the age of fifteen.

His books became a bestseller, and soon ranked among the highlights of fantasy and adventure literature. In this sense, the series will try to adapt all its texts from the Inheritance Cycle, which go beyond Eragorn, to its continuation in Eldest, Brisingr and Inheritance.

The complete saga

The novel tells the story of Eragorn, a young teenage farmer who finds in the forest what at first glance looks like a precious stone. However, he discovers that it is actually the egg of a dragon, a species that until that moment was believed extinct. This is posed as the opportunity to fight to defend what he dreams and become a hero. This Disney+ adaptation comes on the heels of the 2006 film, directed by Stefen Fangmeier, and starring Edward Speleers, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Guillory and Rachel Weisz.
