The City of Buenos Aires already has a judge appointed for the first jury trial

After the sanction of Law No. 6451 in September of last year where the criminal trial system of Trial by Jury was incorporated, this Tuesday the Hearing Room of the Criminal, Juvenile Criminal, Contraventional and Misdemeanor Chamber made the draw of the judge who will direct the first trial with the methodology of popular jury that will be held in the City of Buenos Aires. The magistrate who will conduct the trial is Carla Cavaliere judge in the Criminal, Juvenile Criminal, Contraventional and Misdemeanors, will be in charge of conducting the trial of the case for the collapse of a building product of works and excavation works in San Cristóbal that five plaintiffs and eight accused. The offence against him is reckless damage (art. 189 of the Criminal Code).

Mock trial by jury.

The draw was attended by the president of the Council, Alberto Maques, the president of the Criminal, Juvenile Criminal, Contraventional and Misdemeanor Chamber of the City, Jorge Franza, and authorities of the Judicial Power of the City of Buenos Aires, and the parties involved in the process. The trial does not yet have a date since the plurality of defendants and plaintiffs involved in the case, the summons to the juries and the practice of jury selection hearings must be considered to complete the organization of the trial according to what it defines.
