Sergio Massa will announce this week the name of the Deputy Minister of Economy

The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, will define this week the name of his deputy minister, with which he would finally complete his team and exercise a decisive task to appease the markets. According to the information that emerged, the name of the economist Gabriel Rubinstein for the position regained strength in the last hours. Two other economists who would have been polled by Massa were Martín Rapetti and Diego Bossio, the directors of the consulting firm Equilibra. The vice minister’s job will be to impose a macroeconomic vision on the program proposed by the portfolio, whose main objective is now to avoid a devaluation and a breakaway from inflation, with the idea of reaching the 2023 elections as well as possible. In addition, adding dollars to the reserves of the Central Bank is a critical objective of the very short term and design a financing scheme in pesos. For his part, before the possible political decision, Rubinstein said that “the urgent and important thing in Argentina is to end the fiscal imbalance, improve internal and external credibility (important from the political point of view) to strengthen reserves and maintain a ‘responsible indebtedness'”.
