The prices of beef cuts registered stable values in July 2022 compared to the previous month. In relation to the same month last year they showed an increase of 59.6%, according to a report by the Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA). In July, beef remained with slight increases of 1% in the points of sale that serve in neighborhoods of high socioeconomic level, in medium socioeconomic sectors they remained stable, (0%); and in those that meet the socioeconomic level low, prices fell slightly by 0.6%, the document says.
In the Federal Capital, the western and southern areas of the GBA, there were slight falls in prices; while there were slight increases in the northern part of the GBA.
Likewise, the entity specified that in July the average price of the kilo of roast fell 0.5% compared to June, reaching in the case of the quad and buttocks to -0.9% and -0.3% monthly, respectively. On the other hand, the meat of steers showed slight falls in their prices (-0.2%) in relation to the previous month, and the meat of heifers and calves showed a slight increase, which resulted in a (+0.4%), compared to June. Meanwhile, the common minced meat registered an increase of 1.2% monthly in its price and the value of the shoulder did the same in 0.6%.
There were moderate increases in the price of fresh chicken with a variation of 4.3% in the month of July compared to June, and the price of pork breast showed significant increases in the same period, advancing by 7.9% compared to the previous month. Therefore, chicken increased its price by 85.8% and pork by 65.8%, compared to the values of July 2021.Finally, the report indicates that the average consumption of beef per inhabitant was equivalent to 46.9 kg / year, which was 0.3% lower than twelve months ago and 9.1% lower than that of July 2019.
